The University of Saint Louis (USL) was one of the participants in the benchmarking activity organized by First Eduspec, Inc., with Philippines and Malaysia as benchmarking sites, July 12-14, 2017.
USL representatives to the said event were: Dr. Delailah B. Valencia, University President, Dr. Emmanuel James P. Pattaguan, VP for Academics, Ms. Mary Ann A. Baquiran, High School Principal, and Mrs. Luisa B. Aquino, Executive Assistant to the President for Institutional Development and Quality Assurance (EAP-IDQA).
They were joined by representatives from fellow CICM schools as Saint Louis University (Baguio City), Saint Mary’s University (Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya), and Saint Louis College (San Fernando, La Union), and from non-CICM schools.
The school leaders’ benchmarking site in the Philippines was PAREF Southridge in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, where they were presented with the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with Robotics experience of said basic education school.
Representatives from two other basic ed schools, Elizabeth Seton School (Las Piñas City) and Claret School of Quezon City, presented at PAREF Southridge their respective Robotics program implementation.
In Malaysia, the benchmarking sites were: SJK C Kuen Cheng 2, SJK C Lai Meng, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC), and Educspec Holdings Berhad (Eduspec) STEM Room.
As an information technology (IT) education provider in Asia, Eduspec caters to the STEM programs of the Philippine and Malaysian schools visited.
The benchmarking participants observed the STEM Computer Science (CS) classes of SJK C Kuen Cheng 2, SJK C Lai Meng, and TAR UC.
Each of the visiting Philippine schools signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with TAR UC for academic partnership, capping the delegates’ benchmarking in said university.
