Scholarships and Financial Aid

  1. ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP

    It is given to students who have graduated with honors in senior high school or have served as president of the student government. It is only applicable for a semester.
    1. Honor Graduates: The program is given to incoming first-year students who have displayed exceptional academic performance upon graduation in the Senior High School. The scholarship is applicable only during the first semester of study in the University.

      Qualifications: The applicant must be a Senior High School graduate who was awarded “With Highest Honor (98-100)”, “High Honor (95-97)”; “and with Honor (90-94)”

      Requirements: Certification from the Senior High School Principal attesting the award received; Commencement Exercises Programme

      Benefit - 100% tuition discount for graduates with highest honors, 50% tuition discount for graduates with high honors, and 25% tuition discount for graduates with honors.

    2. Student Government President: The scholarship is offered to a Senior High School student who has served as President of the Student Government of his/her school. The scholarship is applicable only during the first semester of study in the University

      Qualification: The student must have served as President of the Student Government of his/her school.

      Requirement: Certification from the Senior High School Principal

      Benefits: Twenty-five percent (25%) tuition discount.

  2. ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

    The scholarship is provided to a college student who has an exemplary academic performance in the previous semester. The Academic Dean forwards to the Accounting Office the approved list of qualified Academic Scholars of a particular term.

    1. President’s Lister with Highest Honor: A student who has enrolled at least 18 academic units, has not dropped and has obtained an academic weighted average of at least 92% and with no grade below 85% in the previous semester.

      Benefit - One hundred percent (100%) tuition discount

    2. President’s Lister with High Honor: A student who has enrolled at least 18 academic units, has not dropped any subject and has obtained an academic weighted average of at least 90% and with no grade below 85% in the previous semester.

      Benefit - Fifty percent (50%) tuition discount

    3. President’s Lister with High Honor:A student who has enrolled at least 18 academic units, has not dropped any subject during the previous semester, and has obtained an academic weighted average of at least 88% with no grade below 83% in the previous semester.

      Benefit - Ten percent (10%) tuition discount

  3. CICM - USL SCHOLARSHIP

    The CICM-USL Scholarship grant is a privilege awarded to poor but deserving students who are interested to take any of the following courses of the University of Saint Louis: Accountancy, Management Accounting, Business Administration, Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Engineering Courses, Architecture, Computer-related Courses, Psychology, Political Science (w/ Legal Studies)

    Qualification: A student who is from a financially challenged family.

    Requirements: Accomplished Application form with latest 2x2 colored I.D; Picture of white background with name tag; Attachments to the application form; Applicant’s personal Application Letter justifying the need for scholarship; Photocopy of report card with general average and; conduct grade of 85% or above; Copy of the USL Entrance Examination result (for incoming First Year College students)

    Benefit - The Scholarship covers 100% discount on tuition fee, laboratory fee and miscellaneous fee except student fees.

  4. STEP (Scholarship for Teacher Education Program)

    The scholarship program is given to an interested student who intends to enroll in any Teacher Education program and has demonstrated outstanding academic performance in Senior High School.

    Qualification: A student who met the requisite level of financial need.

    Requirements: Accomplished Application Form; Latest Income Tax Return of Parents; Academic Record in Senior High School; Sketch of Place of Residence

    Benefit - Full discount- tuition fee and/ or miscellaneous fee depending on the Annual Household Income

  5. PRIORITY PROGRAMS SCHOLARSHIP

    It is given to students who enrolled in priority programs (Geodetic Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Hospitality Management, Marketing Management, Political Science, and Psychology) of the university within the University.

    Qualification: A student who is from a financially challenged family.

    Requirements: Accomplished Application Form; Latest Income Tax Return of Parents; Academic Record in Senior High School; Sketch of Place of Residence; While in the program, the student must maintain a general weighted average of 85% for board courses and 80% for non-board courses with no grade lower than 80% in all subjects

    Benefit - 100% tuition fee discount

  6. STUDENT ASSISTANT GRANT

    The program is given to interested students who are willing to work and study in the university.

    Qualification: A student with priority management skills who can balance work and study at the same time.

    Requirements: Application Letter addressed to the University President; A properly filled-out Information Sheet; One 2x2 picture ID; Photocopy of the most previous grade for college or Form 137 for incoming freshman; USL Placement Examination for transferee and incoming freshman; Certification of Fitness to Work from the USL Physician

    Benefit - Free tuition fee, miscellaneous fee and laboratory fee EXCEPT student fee (refer to Student Assistant Scholarship guidelines and policies)

  7. CCA SERVICE GRANT

    The scholarship program is given to a student who has shown exemplary talent and skill in the field of performing arts and music.

    Qualification: A student who has served as talent of the University’s Center for Culture and the Arts for at least one semester, and had no dropped and/or failing grade in the previous semester/ short term.

    Requirements: Recommendation letter from the CCA Director; Result of the evaluation every term by the DSAS.

    Benefit -The grant provides for a twenty-five percent (25%), fifty percent (50%), seventy-five percent (75%), and one hundred percent (100%) discount- tuition fee and miscellaneous fee EXCEPT student fee

  8. ATHLETIC SERVICE GRANT

    The program is provided to students who have shown athletic prowess and ability.

    Qualification: A student who has served as athlete of the University’s College Varsity for at least one semester and had no dropped and/ or failing grade in the previous semester/ short term.

    Requirements: Recommendation from the Sports Management Director; Result of the evaluation every term

    Benefit - Same with CCA Service Grant but applicable on tuition fee only

  9. PRESIDENT OF THE SUPREME STUDENT COUNCIL SERVICE GRANT

    The scholarship is given to a student who is duly elected as President of the Supreme Student Council.

    Qualification: A student who is duly elected as President of the Supreme Student Council.

    Requirements: Has accomplished at least 80% of the Action Plan of the council for the school year; Recommendation from the DSAS

    Benefit - One hundred percent (100%) discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees

  10. EDITOR-IN-CHIEF OF THE STUDENT PUBLICATION GRANT

    Qualification: A student who qualified as the Editor in-Chief of The Louisian Courier.

    Requirements: Has mass produced and distributed at least five publication issues; Recommendation from the DSAS

    Benefit - One hundred percent (100%) discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees.

  11. USL ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

    The scholarship is given to a financially challenged student who has a good academic standing.

    Qualifications: A qualified applicant has to be a child of a USL alumnus or recommended by an alumnus. Said applicant should have earned at least 85% GWA in his/her most recent academic record.

    Requirements: Application Letter addressed to the USLTAA President; Senior High School Report Card/ True Copy of Grades; Recommendation Letter from a USL Alumnus; Latest Income Tax Return of Parents

    Benefit - Full discount-tuition fee and miscellaneous fees and laboratory fee except student fees

  12. UniFAST - Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES)

    This is a government funded scholarship program offered to students who come from poor, nearly poor and poorest of the poor families.

    Qualifications: Students who are part of the households included in the Listahanan 2.0 of DSWD ranked according to the estimated per capita household income. Students not part of the Listahanan 2.0, ranked according to estimated per capita household income based on submitted documentation of proof of income to be determined by the UniFAST Board

    Benefits - Students enrolled in private Higher Education Institution (HEIs) are entitled to the following benefits: Tuition and other school fees, which shall be equivalent to the tuition and other school fees of the nearest State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs) in their respective area; Allowance for books, supplies, transportation, and miscellaneous personal expenses, including a reasonable allowance for documented rental or purchase of personal computer or laptop, and other education related expenses; Allowance for room and board costs incurred by the student; Students enrolled in programs requiring professional license or certification will be given the one-time cost of obtaining the first professional credentials or qualifications, which may include notarial fees, review classes fees, insurance premium fees and documentation fees (Section 23-e IRR of RA 10931)

  13. SON AND DAUGHTER DISCOUNT(TES)

    This scholarship is granted to qualified children of full time employees of the university.

    Qualifications: A student who is a biological child/ ward of a permanent, full time and qualified employee of the University; the children/ward must have passed the entrance requirements of the university.

    Requirement: The children/ ward is enrolled with a minimum load of 18 units during the regular semester and minimum of 7 units during short term, exemption is made for students whose regular load as required is less than 18 units; Able to obtain a general average of 78% per term with no dropped/ failing grade in any subject

    Benefit - One hundred percent (100%) discount on tuition, miscellaneous fees (Laboratory Fee except RLE)

  14. UNMARRIED PERSONNEL DEPENDENTS’ STUDY GRANTS

    The scholarship is given to a student chosen as ward by an employee who is single and unmarried and has served the university for ten (10) and more years.

    Qualification: A student who is chosen as ward of an employee who has served the University for at least ten (10) years

    Requirements: The ward must meet the admission requirements of the school; Dropped or failed subject is paid by the single personnel guardian

    Benefit - One hundred percent (100%) discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees (Laboratory Fee except RLE)

  15. SIBLINGS DISCOUNT

    The scholarship program is given to siblings (of legal marriage) in a family.

    Qualifications: A student who has a brother and sister studying in the university who are either in High School or College Level; who has passed all subjects of the preceding term; and enrolled at least 18 units during the term.

    Requirement: Applicant must present upon enrollment a clear copy of the birth certificate

    Benefit - 10% discount on tuition fees for each sibling.

  16. GOVERNMENT – SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIPS

    GSIS scholarship; Indigenous People’s Scholarship; Congressman Scholarships; and other scholarships recognized by the institution

    NOTE: All institutional discounts must be applied upon enrolment except those which are recommendatory in nature.
  1. Entrance Scholarship
    First and Second Honors of Grade 10 completers are granted 100% and 50% tuitional scholarship respectively for one school year, provided the number of Grade 10 completers in their class was at least fifty (50) and that they have passed the USL-SHS placement examination.
  2. Academic Scholarships
    These scholarships are granted to students with the highest general grade average per strand at the end of the school year.
    1. full tuitional scholarship is awarded to the first honors for the next school year. Tie in rank can be considered.
    2. half tuitional scholarship is awarded to the second honors for the next school year. Tie in rank can be considered.
  3. Financial Assistance
    1. Brothers and Sisters Tuition Discount:  Brothers and/or Sisters (of legal marriage) are each granted a 10% discount on tuition fee, excluding the miscellaneous fees.
    2. Children/ Wards of USL Academic and Non-academic Personnel as provided in the Administrative and Employment Manual.
    3. Scholarships for Athletes: Any athlete who participated in PALARONG PAMBANSA will be given a 10% discount on tuition fees. Graduating students who qualify for the discount shall be allowed to avail of the benefits by way of refund.
    4. SHS Voucher Program: Public School Grade 10 completers and Private School Grade 10 completers who are Education Service Contracting (ESC) grantees are automatically qualified voucher recipients based on DepEd Order No. 11, s. 2015
      • Grade 10 Completers from Public Schools will receive 100% of the voucher amount
      • Grade 10 Completers from Private ESC accredited schools will receive 80% of the voucher amount
Note:  Application for scholarship or discount should be done every school year upon enrollment.  Said application should be submitted to the Accounting Office.
  1. Entrance Scholarship
    Elementary graduates with the highest honors among the graduating class are granted 100% and 50% tuition scholarship respectively for one school year, provided the number of graduating pupils in their class was at least forty (40) as duly certified by the School Principal and that they have passed the USL - JHS entrance examination.
  2. Academic Scholarships
    These scholarships are granted to students with outstanding academic achievements and aptitudes based upon approved criteria.
    Criteria:
    • A full tuition scholarship is awarded to the first honors for every grade level for both curricula, one for the science curriculum and another for the enriched academic curriculum.
    • Half tuition scholarship is awarded to the second honors for every grade level for both curricula, one for the science curriculum and another for the enriched academic curriculum.
  3. Financial Assistance
    1. The Socialized Assistance Program (SAP) grant is a financial assistance awarded to poor but deserving students enrolled in the University. The assistance ranges from 30% to a maximum of 100% tuition fee except miscellaneous and student fees.

      GUIDELINES FOR THE SOCIALIZED ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
      The following are the rules and regulations of the SAP Committee. Violation of any of the provisions is subject for deliberation.
        1. To secure and fill out APPLICATION FORM and attach the needed requirements as well as forward a personal application letter addressed to the University President and to be submitted to the Junior High School Guidance Office.
        2. A SAP Grantee should meet the following qualifications:
          1. Satisfactory academic grades (general average of at least 80% without failing grade)
          2. Satisfactory conduct grade (average of at least 80%)
          3. A student who belongs to an indigent family (annual income is below Php100, 000.00);
        3. That a SAP scholar who stops schooling/from the scholarship program within the school year shall pay all his/her full tuition fee and miscellaneous fees of the said school year.
        4. This USL-SAP Scholarship grant is good for one school year. The applicant must apply annually. The signing of MOA is done in an annual basis depending on status of compliance of requirement as stipulated above.
    2. Brothers and Sisters Tuition Discount
      Brothers and/or Sisters (of legal marriage) are each granted a 10% discount on tuition fee, excluding the miscellaneous fees.
    3. Children/Wards of USL Academic and Non-academic Personnel:
      USL Academic and Non-academic Personnel as provided in the Administrative and Employment Manual.
      a.   Married Personnel Dependent’s Study Grants Biological children of permanent full-time personnel enjoy educational assistance with the following scheme:   For children in High School and College only:
      Personnel’s Years of Service in USL Percentage discount on School Fees
      With at least three to ten years of full-time service 100% discount on tuition fees provided child/children have passed all subjects
      With more than ten years of full-time service 100% discount on all school fees provided child/children have passed all subjects
      b. Unmarried Personnel Dependent’s Study Grants Full-time, permanent single and unmarried academic or non-academic personnel who have served USL for at least Ten (10) continuous years shall enjoy full scholarship privilege for one ward according to the following scheme:   With 10 years of continuous service, one (1) ward scholar for the entire ten years and another ward scholar every ten years thereafter.
    4. Scholarships For Athletes: Any athlete who qualify and participated in CAVRAA or PALARO will be given a 25 % and 50 % discount on tuition fees respectively in the school year when the student joined the competition. Grade 10 completer who qualify for the discount shall be allowed to avail of the benefits by way of refund.
