| Dr. Joeffrey M. Calimag, a 1995 High School alumnus of the then Saint Louis College of Tuguegarao (SLCT), now University of Saint Louis (USL), gave lectures for undergraduate and graduate students, Aug. 12-13, 2016.Dr. Calimag is a professor of International Business, Trade and Global Management at the University of Ulsan (South Korea) and a Subject Matter Expert and Adjunct Lecturer for the International Federation of Professional Managers (IFPM), Certified Professional Manager (CPM)-Asia.
Dr. Calimag graced on Aug. 12 the 6th Regional Finance Convention hosted by the Junior Finance Executives (JFINEX) of the School of Accountancy, Business and Hospitality (SABH). His lectures included Becoming Global Human Resource Practitioners; The Global Trade and Investment Environment; and The Global Money System.
On Aug. 13, the lecturer challenged the graduate school professors and students towards global economics and business with these topics: Global Trade and Investments; Global Money System; Strategy of International Business;and Graduate School Research. |
Dr. Pyrene T. Quilang, Graduate School dean, Dr. Calimag, and Dr. Pattaguan Dr. Calimag received his PhD in Korean Studies with focus on Business and Economics from Hanyang University (South Korea), Executive MBA in Global Management from the Helsinki School of Economics (Finland), Master of Public Policy in Economics and Public Policy from the KDI School (South Korea), and Bachelor of Science in Community Development from the University of the Philippines – Diliman. He is currently under the Advanced Project Management program of Stanford University (USA). Meanwhile, considering Dr. Calimag’s research experience, the University Research Staff and SABH faculty members had a meeting with him on Aug. 12. Dr. Calimag was requested to review the USL research agenda, and the University awaits his review of the document. He also helped the SABH faculty to conceptualize possible research problems based on topics of interest they presented to him. Moreover, Dr. Delailah B. Valencia, USL President, and Dr. Emmanuel James P. Pattaguan, USL Vice-President for Academics, also met with Dr. Calimag on Aug. 12 for an invitation for him to be a visiting professor in USL for the second semester of school year 2016-2017. |
