Lance Kasel Lasam, a Grade 11 STEM Non-Health student, bagged the first place in the 2018 Division Literary Joust Essay Writing Contest held on Sept. 7 at the Cagayan National High School (CNHS) Library as part of the celebration of the National Book Week.
A Science and Technology writer of the Blue and White, school paper of the High School Department, the scribe’s winning essay revolved around the joust theme, “Connected actions, collective vision: libraries transforming society.”
Lasam’s piece stood out among the nine essays written by students from public and private schools.
Lasam will be advancing to the Regional Literary Joust on Oct. 3 at the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP), Department of Education Regional Office 02, Tuguegarao City.
