The University of Saint Louis (formerly Saint Louis College of Tuguegarao) High School Batch 1993 and this year’s grand alumni homecoming host turned over to the University on Dec. 17, 2018 the Junior High School (JHS) Library’s sunken bay through a blessing and dedication ceremony.
The construction of a sunken bay at the JHS Library is one of the projects of the said batch led by Dr. Agnes Mandac-Villanueva.
A sunken bay is a 21st century open reading area within a library where customers may comfortably stay for leisure reading or academic purposes.
“This addresses different learning, including reading, styles,” said Dr. Emmanuel James P. Pattaguan, VP for Academics.
Rev. Fr. Thiago O. Silva, CICM, VP for Mission and Identity, blessed the new learning facility.
The VP for Academics gave the acceptance message after the turnover speech of the batch president.
Also present during the said ceremony were other officers of Batch 1993; the JHS assistant principal for administration, Dr. Lailanie Pattaguan; JHS area coordinators and faculty; OIC-Director of Libraries Arlyn S. Cristobal; JHS Library staff; and the Supreme Student Government (SSG) officers.
It is hoped that the project will be duplicated in the other libraries in the University to address the need of students for 21st century learning spaces.
