The Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) granted Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) assistance to four technologies of the University of Saint Louis (USL).

The technologies are:

• “Artificial Seawater Solution Mixer for Larval Rearing of Freshwater Prawn” by Ertie C. Abana, Jannick Noah P. Fronda, Llana R. Buenavista, John Marc R. Rodriguez, Marc Irvin D. Viernes, and Allen Dave Gapay
• “A Schedule-Based Intelligent Socket known as IntelliSocket” by Kristelnessa Caryl Hasmin V. Jurado, Rodilyn T. Lico, Fathi V. Emad-Eldin, Ertie C. Abana, and Lemon S. Tablada
• “Electronic Maize Trading Machine known as E-Maize-ing” by Jannah Mae R. Bumanglag, Joi Tatiana A. Cue, Ertie C. Abana, Jaret R. Lara, Aries P. Riambon, and Darren A. Tagao
• “Water Intake Monitoring from Tap Water Filtering Device known as MoniTap” by Roland Joseph P. Miguel, Thomas D. Binarao, Czarina F. Buenconsejo, Ertie C. Abana, and Shereen J. Tabug

The assistance program for securing IP protection is pursuant to Executive Order No. 128.

The assistance covers the cost of preparation of specification and claims for filing of application for patent, utility model or industrial design registration; filing fees and other Intellectual Property Office (IPO) fees for the prosecution of the application until registration; payment of annuities until the issuance of letters of patent; and provision to USL of a copy of the IP application and subsequently the letters of patent, Utility Model (UM), or Industry Design (ID) certificate, once available.
