In support to one of the Ten-Point Basic Education Agenda of the Aquino administration to promote the Every Child a Reader Program (ECARP), the Department of Education (DepEd) Region 2 conducted a Read-a-thon contest in Tuguegarao City on Nov. 30, 2015 as a culmination of the National Reading Month celebration with the theme “Read for Life.”

James Benedict C. Tan, Grade IV pupil of the University of Saint Louis, Tuguegarao City, was awarded as the best story reteller among representatives from eight participating divisions in Cagayan Valley. He bagged a gold medal, trophy and a certificate.

Tan won first place in the Division Story Retelling making him represent the Division of Tuguegarao City in the regional level.
