Cheers filled the James Ter Meer Gymnasium as administrators, faculty, and non-teaching personnel came together for the annual USL Employee’s Christmas Program on December 21, 2022.
A dance presentation by the USL Executive Advisory Board followed by a mob dance by select employees across the departments marked the opening of the program. After a year of hard work, the employees enjoyed the Christmas celebration with prizes and giveaways through parlor games and raffle draws.
A tribute program for Rev. Fr. Renillo H. Sta Ana, CICM, University President, headlined the night’s festivities following the first segment of the program. This honors his illustrious career as USL’s leading figure for the past four years.
Each department’s representative then took turns sharing their stories and messages of gratitude, giving gifts, and dedicating songs for Fr. Sta Ana.
In his response message, Fr. Sta Ana shared his joy of working as a leader in the educational setting. “I believe the head of the school’s job is to always see his people, the talents that are so creative, dynamic, and full of wisdom.”
“I’m very happy. Those are privileged years to be able to work with you. It was a wonderful time spent with you all. When I started this presidency, I said this would be a Father’s mission, to be the father of this university. I hope you were able to feel it.”
“I’m happy that I was able to continue and start improvements in the university, and I hope and pray that you will all continue to contribute to the university’s growth. The university has a beautiful mission and vocation. Continue with that, always with a missionary heart.”
Under the leadership of Fr. Sta Ana, USL has made strides in a range of areas, as exemplified by the acquisition of ISO certification, the rise of the new Bishop Constant Jurgens Campus in Brgy. Leonarda, and the performance of USL graduates in licensure examinations, which produced four topnotchers in 2022. Success was also proven in the administration’s ability to adapt to technological changes, strengthen community-oriented and internationalization initiatives, and remain steadfast in its dedication to Missio et Excellentia.
The program was hosted by Engr. Ariel Lorenzo, SEAITE faculty, Mr. Ramil Corpuz, USL-CECA Director, and Ms. Aika Balanan, Assistant to the HRMDO.
