USL holds Christmas Lighting Ceremony

Louisian life on campus just became even more special as the University of Saint Louis rang in the yuletide season with its ceremonial lighting of Christmas decorations.

Bright lights simultaneously illuminated the USL campus, accompanied by enthusiastic cheers and applause from the audience, during its annual festival of lights dubbed “2022 Family Night with the Light: Christ, Our Light,” held on November 18, 2022.

The lighting activity marks the start of the Christmas season and serves as a reminder that Jesus Christ is our light, shining upon us in every step of our journey through life, while also inspiring us to be lights to others and lead them to Christ.

Mr. Arvin Joshua M. Danao and Ms. Natalie Kate C. Ramirez, USL faculty, facilitated the event, with Rev. Fr. Renillo Sta. Ana, CICM, University President, leading the blessing ceremony with a liturgy.

Prior to the main event, Louisian bikers paraded across the city as part of the lighting festivities. The pre-event sought to elicit the underlying message of the lighting activity while also encouraging fellow Louisians to live an active and healthy lifestyle and inspiring them to join the biking community.

The Center for Culture and the Arts(CCA) and other select teachers and students then delighted the audience with vibrant and spectacular performances following the lighting ceremony.

For the duration of the holiday season, students, employees, and visitors will be warmly greeted by the festive sight of the 20-foot Christmas tree and dazzling lights decked across the campus to welcome them upon their arrival for class or work and cheer them up when they return home.
