A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between the University of Saint Louis (USL) and Palawan State University (PSU) – Cuyo Campus to promote a culture of research through the conduct of a collaborative research program known as Research Capability Building Program, particularly on Journal Publication on September 28, 2022, at PSU-Cuyo campus.

The agreement aims to advance the collaborative ideas and objectives of USL and PSU as they relate to research endeavors and enable each party to pursue research activities.

Dr. Darin Jan C. Tindowen, Head for Social Innovation, Local Knowledge and Educational Research (SILKER), shared that he was grateful because PSU was able to recognize USL, especially its research programs.

“It is an honor on our part that other universities recognize USL and that they collaborate with us. That means they saw the research productivity of USL,” Dr. Tindowen said.

As stated in the signed MoA, USL, through the University Research and Development Center (URDC), commits to conduct a series of training workshops for PSU faculty; assist faculty members in the publication of their research; and conduct collaborative research.

Rev. Fr. Renillo H. Sta. Ana, CICM, the President of the University of Saint Louis, has signed the said MoA with Palawan State University’s President, Dr. Ramon M. Docto. Also present during the MoA signing were Dr. Emmanuel James P. Pattaguan, USL’s Vice President for Academics; Dr. Elena S. Sadang, Campus Director of PSU Cuyo Campus; Prof. Ma. Adela S. Lacao, OIC-Director, PSU Research Office & Director, University Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office; Dr. Celso L. Tuddao, USL’s Vice President for Finance; and Dr. Darin Jan C. Tindowen, SILKER Head.

Days after the said MoA signing, URDC sent a need assessment for USL’s research heads to know the specific training they will provide to PSU.
